In the begining of May, Mpiri was back in Iceland. This was the third time Mpiri has been in this magical country. First time was in 2002 when Iceland was on our North Atlantic tour. Second time around was in 2009 when Mpiri performed the modern dance theater Barbara with a danish dance ensemble. This time Mpiri participated in a project called Nordic Cultural Paths. The project was set up be the danish folk music group Via Artis Konsort. This groups main focus is on mideval folk music and the culture that this music represents. Mpiri was asked to join, to emphazise the faroese and north atlantic singing tradition, as well as perticipating in a workshop investigating aspects of nordic mideval music. Along Mpiri and Via Artis Konsort was the Icelandic male voice choir Voces Thules and musical students from the Academy of Music in Reykjavík.
